Engineer Bio:
Ms. Darling earned her bachelor’s of science in Civil Engineering from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 2004. While in college, Nicole worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation gaining valuable experience in highway materials and construction management. After working in the private sector, she came to Fulton County as their Design & Construction Engineer. While in that position, she oversaw federal and state funded projects until being promoted to Assistant County Engineer in 2011, and then County Engineer in 2014. Nicole resides in northern Fulton County where she is active in various community organizations. |

Fulton County, part of the Military Land Tract, was established in 1823 and is named for Robert Fulton, inventor of the steamboat. Fulton County is known as the Heart of Spoon River Country. With the Illinois River on the eastern border, the Spoon River meanders through this beautiful County. |
